कराग्रे वसते लक्ष्मीः, करमध्ये सरस्वती ।
करमूले स्थिता गौरी, मंगलं करदर्शनम् ॥

Kara-Moole Sthitaa Gowri, Mangalam Kara-Darshanam

On the tip of hand (fingers) resides Goddess Lakshmi, At the center of hand(palm) resides Goddess Saraswati

At the base(wrist) of the hand sits Goddess Gowri, It is auspecious to look at the hands (at the beginning of the day)
